ABOUT

Hi, I’m Mariah! I’m a Personal Historian and lover of stories. I began Unassuming Collective by asking strangers on the street what their story is and most responded with a colorful tale. I decided to create a podcast where I could record those stories and share them with a wider audience. Eventually this led to me to offering this as a service to individuals and families.

I decided to host Storytelling Open Mics so that the community could share stories live. It turned out to be a great way to allow people a safe space to be vulnerable and share memories that were precious to them and waiting to be told. The open mics have accomplished the goal of showcasing unique voices and stories that deserve to be heard.

The stories I’ve had the honor of recording and sharing have been joyous, hilarious, heart-breaking and deeply inspiring. I love preserving personal histories and I believe it’s crucial to our legacy and for helping give guidance and stability to future generations.
